Rheem RGDG-075AUER gas furnace lights intermittently But If I can control the burners by pressing and pulling out on the plug on the control board, would that not tell me that something is going on with the board and not with the pressure switch? Packard 66847 - 1 Speed Direct Replacement Draft Inducer for Rheem, 1/30 HP, 3000 RPM (120V) - 1 Speed Direct Replacement Draft Inducer for Rheem, 1/30 HP, 3000 RPM (120V).
I own Rheem Criterion II gas furnace model NO: RGPH-12EARJR for about 8 years and never had any problems with heat. Lately, I am having this intermittent main burner flame lightening despite the rest of the system woks. Here is what happening: when my thermostat calls for heat (sometimes it could be even the same temperature indicated inside matching the sent temperature) the Inducer suctions blower kicks in for about 30 seconds and the spark ignition starts to click. On a lucky attempt the main burner lights up and everything is fine followed by the main blower operation. However, more often than I want after the ignition clicks the only one burner section (pipe) that is the closest to ignition rods lights up, however, the whole burner is not ignited and the system is trying again to ignite the gas. Sometimes, the burner is ignited on the second attempt but mostly it's not and main blower kicks in blowing cold unheated air. The 2 green led lights on the IFC panel stay on while the system is working without flame (nothing is blinking). Sometimes however, I've noticed the 'OK' led light is blinking once with 2 seconds pause indicating that the whole system is in 1 hour lockout mode. I checked the pressure switch by blowing and sucking from the hose resulting in clicking sound and the central small rubber plunger was going in and out indicating that switch was working. My HVAC technician was called twice and he just cleaned the flame arrestor rod and the ignition rods. I did that myself too but it still did not solve the problem. What's is wrong with my unit? Thank you very much
Regards,
Michael.
